Seasonal Tax Preparer
Full and / or Part Time
Annual Position: January – April
Fernandes & Charest, P.C. is a certified public accounting firm located in Southeastern Massachusetts that’s seeking a staff accountant to provide tax and accounting services working closely with senior staff. We provide a culture that values work/life balance, very competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits and flexible schedules.
The candidate’s responsibilities include the following:
- Preparation of individual tax returns
The ideal candidate possesses the following:
- Experience with individual tax return preparation
- Experience with CCH Profx Tax, Fixed Assets and Engagement strongly preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills a must
- Must be able to meet deadlines and work well in a challenging environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Time management skills

Seasonal Assistant Tax Administrator / Processor
Full Time – Seasonal (January – April) with flexible hours.
Fernandes & Charest, P.C. is a certified public accounting firm located in Southeastern Massachusetts that is seeking an Assistant Tax Administrator / Processor to support our team and clients. We provide a culture that values work/life balance, competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and flexible schedules. The firm offers family friendly flex hours in addition to paid time off. This is a full-time position from January through April. Ideally, it would be long term for each tax season.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Scan client tax forms to software
- Enter data into software
- Organize and update relevant client data using database applications
- Coordinate client signatures and assembling and filing of tax returns
Administrative support tasks:
- Administrative support at the executive level for our firm’s Partners and Managers such as: calendars, scheduling meetings, conference calls, and correspondence
- Telephone support, answering, and directing all incoming calls
- Reception support for: meeting and greeting visitors, vendors, couriers, and clients
- Administrative tasks such as: typing, filing, faxing, copying, and mail distribution
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a tax department in an administrative capacity, preferred
- Highly organized, multi-tasker
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent personal social skills in a busy, deadline driven office
- History of reliability in the performance of administrative support functions
- Software skills: Microsoft Office Suite, CCH Tax and Prosystems Tax Suite, a plus

Internship (Paid)
Part time
Fernandes & Charest, P.C. is a certified public accounting firm located in Southeastern Massachusetts that is seeking a senior accountant to provide tax and accounting services to our clients in various industries. We provide a culture that values work/life balance, competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and flexible schedules. The internship is from January through April and hours are 20 to 25 per week.

- Accounting major
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to work well in a fast-paced environment
